Jesse Halpern grew up in a family of photographers, so it seemed natural that he would become hooked on image-making at a young age. After High School, he pursued a BFA in Advertising Photography at Rochester Institute of Technology. There, Jesse spent time mastering the technical side of the craft. His time in NYC as an assistant to other photographers prepared him for his photography business.
Several opportunities as a photography professor have allowed Jesse to teach, travel, and photograph abroad. Over the past two decades, he has been fortunate to split his time between the US and Asia, busily teaching, exhibiting work, and taking commissions from commercial clients.
Jesse lives on the Eastern Shore of Maryland with his wife and three kids. He is the Coordinator of the Commercial Photography Program at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. In his free time, he works on his own fine-art projects while taking on advertising and editorial assignments.
